The Community Food Co-op is a mission driven, for profit business. It is owned by its members who elect a nine-member board of directors. Each director serves a three-year term, with the terms staggered so that three board members are elected (or re-elected) each year. One board member may be a staff member, but there is no requirement that the board always include a staff member.
The board is responsible for hiring and supervising a general manager who is in charge of the operations of the co-op. The board also provides financial oversight, long-term strategic planning, and supervises the annual election of board members.
Members are welcome to attend the monthly board meeting on the second Thursday of each month.
