BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ (BOD) MEETING

OCTOBER 19, 2017 AT CO-OP CLUBHOUSE

MINUTES

PRESENT: K. COYLE, A. DAWOOD, J. MADGIC, L. HAUGAN (FORMER BOARD ASSISTANT), C. HILDRETH, J. MADDEN (BOARD FACILITATOR), L. PETERMANN, S. QUARLES, S. SEBREN (CURRENT BOARD ASSISTANT), K. WISEMAN (GENERAL MANAGER), K. THOMAS

  1. MEMBER FORUM

No members.

  1. CHECK-INS, AGENDA, MINUTES

Proposed meeting agenda and draft of September minutes were approved as revised. Calendar and action items were reviewed. Board retreat dates were set for next year (October 19-21, 2018).

  1. COMMITTEE REPORTS

Board meetings now start at 6pm (dinner at 5:30) to allow 30 minutes for member forum until further notice.

Farm to Food Bank: We will end the program but will continue giving to food banks.

Member engagement on Co-op the Whole Block: We will hold three meetings (neighborhood outreach meeting on Oct 24, former board member meeting Nov 13 and general member informational meeting Dec 5) about Whole Block project.

  1. BUILDING EXPANSION PROJECT COMMUNICATION AND UPDATES

Board reviewed the newest building costs from Langlas & Associates and unanimously voted to accept them.

  1. FINANCE

Board discussed and agreed that the Finance Committee would benefit from the addition of another member with a financial background.

  1. GM REPORT

Discussed member loans drive to help pay for the expansion project. We are seeing growth in both stores.

  1. MISCELLANEOUS

Board adopted their 2017-18 work plan. It will be posted on the BoD section of the website.
