COMMITTEE ITEMS THAT REQUIRE BOARD ACTION
Board members who are up for re-election will tell the NAP Committee by November 1 whether they intend to run.
GENERAL MANAGER’S REPORT
We’re experiencing substantial growth. CWM is roughly 8x larger in sales than CDT. CDT has been seeing improvements and began a soft roll out of hot bar lunches and hot soup packaged to go. Labor was up significantly in September because several people were hired and trained during that time with the expectation that area COVID numbers would rise in October, which did happen.
September rolling monthly sales growth: CWM 19% CDT -47% Global 7.9%
All managers, leads, staff DEI Committee members, and a few other staff participated in the first of a series of four online training workshops on diversity, equity and inclusion topics, led by TMI Consulting, a firm that is also working with the National Cooperative Grocers’ board.
Board Retreat agenda discussion
Board meeting day of the week change discussion
Morgan Scarr from Amatics CPA Group briefed the Finance committee on the compilation (which is not an audit) they have completed for the Co-op. Morgan and Co-op Controller Hanah McCarthy will present to the entire Board at the November meeting. The committee discussed both the status of PPP loan forgiveness and the terms for offering renewal of member loans that will begin to mature in the next few months. The Finance committee recommended that the Board approve a profitability bonus for staff (minus the GM) for the months of July, August and September 2020.
