Job Location: Co-op West Main
Salary: $19.00 - HOUR
Two Part time positions available. First position: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 5:30am-1pm. Second position: 4 days a week (days are flexible but once agreed upon with manager will be set) 1pm-8pm.
Purpose: Prepare fresh desserts based on the daily schedule and recipes.
Specific Responsibilities of Pastry Baker
Food Preparation
- Make desserts and other items according to the schedule to ensure products are on the correct delivery schedule.
- If requested, package desserts and other items properly to ensure that desserts are able to maintain proper shelf life.
- Use proper storage, product rotation and labeling procedures.
- Document out-of-stock items following department procedures.
- Responsible for quality and freshness control.
Qualifications
- Two+ years of baking experience and/or education desired that demonstrates the ability or aptitude to successfully meet the expectations listed above. Commercial food handling experience required.
- Ability to follow recipes and produce food in large quantities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; early morning, daytime, evening, holiday, and weekend shifts required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. throughout shift, occasionally 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods and to bend and twist repeatedly; ability to lift product overhead and/or to climb ladders with product.
