Job Location: Co-op West Main
Salary: $20.00 - HOUR

Full-time position available. Shifts are Tuesday-Saturday 8am-3pm.

Purpose: Receive, organize, and manage food service inventory; build pallets based on orders; maintain inventory controls.

Specific Responsibilities of Food Service Receiver

Receiving

  • Work with Food Service Purchasers to anticipate size and delivery dates of orders.
  • Check deliveries to verify piece count and check for obvious damage. Notify Food Service Purchasers of discrepancies or damages.
  • Sign for deliveries with appropriate adjustments noted on invoice.
  • Handle invoices according to standard procedures.
  • Organize and stock incoming product to maintain Bakery, Production Kitchen (PK), and Retail Kitchen (RK) par levels; assist with Meat and Seafood stocking as needed.

Inventory Management

  • Receive, rotate, maintain, and organize product in all warehouse and work areas related to Food Service.
  • Assist waste reduction by organizing product in Food Service areas as outlined in shift flow; identify and communicate items nearing end of shelf-life to appropriate Food Service Managers.
  • Communicate any errors and inaccuracies found on invoices and any damaged product to the food service purchaser.
  • Build pallets based on orders using a pallet jack and wrap for delivery according to prescribed procedures and schedules.
  • Follow procedures for invoicing for products being delivered to other locations.
  • Conduct Food Service inventories as directed.

Other

  • Clean food service dry storage and freezers regularly.
  • Assist Retail Operations staff in warehouse task coverage as necessary including accessing high-bay product.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment, food service preferred, that demonstrates the ability or aptitude to successfully meet all expectations listed above.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; early morning, daytime, evening, holiday, and weekend shifts required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. throughout shift, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Keep current on Co-op’s forklift and stacker certification on intervals set by the Co-op.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and to bend and twist repeatedly; ability to lift product overhead and/or to climb ladders with product.
