Project Update: Laying the Ground Work
May 17, 2018
What's new with Co-op the Whole Block expansion project?
We recently received our official building permit from the City of Bozeman and construction is in full swing.
Between excavators, trucks and construction workers, our site is changing every day.
Looking at the site (from the sidewalk, please!) you'll see recessed squares and rectangles.
Concrete will be poured into them, creating the footings for the building. The footings will hold large structural steel posts.
Fortunately, most of the construction work is happening outside of the store itself, lessening the impact on our shoppers. However, there have been some changes to our lot.
We've managed to only reduce our parking by 15 percent. These spots are located on the furthest (and least utilized) area of our parking lot.
In addition, the 8th Avenue entrance and exit is currently closed.
Fewer spots and one entrance?
Are we taking a walk down memory lane? Sounds a bit like our parking lot before its 2014 expansion!
Perhaps this is a bit nostalgic for all you loyal Co-opers?
Joking aside, we realize this has caused some confusion and congestion and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We are grateful to all of you who continue to navigate these changes and support our store.
And fortunately, once the expansion is complete, we will actually have an increase in parking!
