What is a "reserve" wine?

Reserve wines are either of a higher quality than usual, or a wine that has been aged, or both. It comes from the tradition of wine makers "reserving" some of their best wine.

We also carry six other varietals, priced at just $7.99/each:

  • Bonardo-Malbec
  • Malbec
  • Rose
  • Torrontés
  • Chardonnay
  • Cabernet Sauvignon

Find the full La Riojana set on the north wall, next to the Co-op Bread, at Co-op West Main.

La Riojana's Story

La Riojana is a wine co-op in northwest Argentina with more than 500 members, the majority of which are small-scale farmers with less than seven acres of land each.

Many are the children of former cooperative members, carrying on the family tradition of growing grapes for wine production.

Certified by Fairtrade International (FLO), $2 per case purchased by the Co-op goes directly to funding La Riojana’s community programs. To date, the a secondary school (along with many supplies), a water facility as well as a hospital have been constructed. In addition, the funds help farmers to pay for the costs of organic certification.
