Love the Lentil Celebration

Love the Lentil Celebration

June 09, 2016

Nutritious, fast-cooking and delicious, lentils are a variety of legume that belongs to the pulse family. The U.N. General Assembly declared 2016 the International Year of Pulses.

In accordance, our Co-op is collaborating with other local businesses for a Love the Lentil Celebration on June 20, 21 and 22. The three-day event spotlights the many benefits of this versatile, affordable and healthy food with cooking classes, dinners and lectures.

The event also helps benefit and bring awareness to the Co-op's Farm to Food Bank program. Through this program, Montana-grown produce, grains and legumes (and yes, lots of lentils) are purchased and donated to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and Livingston Food Resource Center.
