Leading Community Partner: Cancer Support Community

May 31, 2016

Approximately 39.6 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes. It is estimated that in 2016 more than 1.6 million new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S.

In response to these staggering numbers, the Cancer Support Community (CSC) in Bozeman provides a full range of free programs and services to help empower, educate and support those at any stage of their cancer diagnosis. Located just across the street from Co-op West Main (102 S. 11th Avenue), CSC is dedicated to ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone.

Programs include drop-in and on-going support groups, networking groups for people with specific types of cancer, educational workshops, exercise activities, social gatherings, stress management sessions and lectures by experts in the field of oncology.

Our Co-op is proud to support CSC cooking and nutrition classes, which provide tips and guidance to participants as they navigate a new diet, often geared towards fresh, whole organic foods.

There are many people in our community who are facing a cancer diagnosis or will in their lifetimes. The CSC digs deep to provide a welcoming and empowering place for these people to turn to.

Co-op Deep Roots
