Leading Community Partner: Bridgercare
June 14, 2016
Last year, Bridgercare provided reproductive and sexual healthcare services to 5,000 people in our community.
The clinic is committed to offering every patient that walks through the door with excellent compassionate care regardless of his or her economic circumstances.
Working on a sliding fee scale, Bridgercare offers discounts based on the patient's income and family size, amounting to more than $415,000 worth of free medical services to those who needed it last year. They did not have to turn anyone away who could not afford their services.
Numerous services meet a vast array of healthcare needs, including: family planning and birth control, free pregnancy testing and counseling, cancer screening for cervical, breast, testicular and GI (or gastrointestinal) cancers, screening for heart disease risks, mammogram orders, blood work for cholesterol treatment, flu shots, hormone therapy for transgender and gender non-conforming patients, STI testing and treatment and more.
Bridgercare's Title X (Ten) grant funds approximately 20 percent of their services. For the rest, they rely on patient fees, donations and insurance reimbursement to cover the majority of the cost of providing care. Our Co-op is proud to support Bridgercare as a sliding scale fee sponsor, partnering with them as one of our leading community partners in our Deep Roots giving program.
