General Manager COVID-19 Update
March 31, 2020
From Our General Manager
A note from Kelly Wiseman —
Speaking for all of us working the front lines of retail, thank you all for your kind words and gratitude. As our team faces extremely stressful duties on a regular basis, this truly goes a long way.
We have every intention of continuing to supply food to our community. In this rapidly escalating situation, we are doing everything we can to keep everyone as safe as possible (see below). Your great attitudes and physical behavior will go a long way in assisting us.
The vast majority of our shoppers have been mindful in abiding by the signage around the store. Your cooperation with sanitation and maintaining social distance is both critical and deeply appreciated.
Help our workers by speaking up across the meat and seafood counter and at the registers. If someone asks you for space, thank you for giving it to them.
Most importantly, I would like to express my gratitude to all of the folks on our team who come to work and give their best. We are asking a lot, and our team is meeting that call. It’s hard to imagine a greater display of courage and selfless service, ever, in my history of retail.
COVID-19 Updates
Updated March 30, 2020
Increased Sanitation — Shopping Baskets
We have increased the frequency and rigor of cleaning the sales floor and operational areas, including high touch surfaces. Please use the gloves and sanitizer available throughout the store.
Our shopping baskets are cleaned after each customer uses one. Used baskets are taken to our dish washing station before being returned to the retail floor.
More info, here: COVID-19 Preparedness
Cash Registers — Protective Shield
We have installed clear plexiglass at our cash registers to help protect our staff and customers.
Returns & Exchanges — Limited Scope
To help reduce exposure, we are limiting the number of products coming back into the store. During this time, we ask for no returns or exchanges unless the food is spoiled or expired.
No "BYO" Bulk Containers & Bags
We are not allowing bulk containers or bags brought from home. We understand this is not in line with our typical efforts towards sustainability. However, during this time, our top priority is to the health and safety of our community.
Curbside Pickup — Coming Soon!
We are working hard to start offering online shopping and curbside pickup. Stay tuned!
Senior & Higher Risk Shopping Hours
We are offering additional hours for adults (65 years and older) and immune-compromised individuals.
