Maradol Papaya Recall
August 09, 2017
The Centers for Disease Control, FDA, public health and regulatory officials are investigating a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Kiambu and Salmonella Thompson.
The outbreak is linked to Maradol papayas grown in Mexico. The brands affected are Caribena, Cavi and Valery. Cases are mainly occurring on the East Coast.
Our Co-op has not carried any of the fresh papaya brands linked to this recall. Currently, we do not have any fresh papaya on the shelves. Previous to this, we offered Formasa and Strawberry papayas. For more information on the ongoing FDA investigation, click here: Papaya Outbreak.
