A Year-Round Commitment to Local Farmers

This month, we’ve been highlighting Montana’s hardworking farmers and vendors, and now it's time to recognize the cooperative that plays a crucial role in ensuring Montanans have access to fresh, local products throughout the year.

The Western Montana Growers Cooperative (WMGC) serves as the backbone of regional produce distribution across the state. While WMGC partners directly with local farms during the growing season, they’re especially vital in the off-season, ensuring a continuous supply of fresh, locally-sourced produce. Instead of relying on goods shipped from thousands of miles away, WMGC collaborates with over 20 independent Montana farms, delivering quality produce from just down the road.

By choosing local products during Montana Month, you not only enjoy fresher food but also strengthen the livelihoods of local farmers and contribute to Montana’s economy. You may have already noticed some of their offerings, such as their beets and kale.

Supporting our local farmers and neighbors is something we can do year-round. Together, we keep Montana flourishing.
