Do You Need Farmers for a Farmers' Market?

Check out this interesting article, Do You Need Farmers for a Farmers’ Market?, from the Wall Street Journal about a Farmers’ Market in Tomah, Wisconsin. The story involves a local farmer, Ronald Waege, who wrote a letter to the Tomah City Council wanting to prohibit anyone from “reselling” farm products at the Farmers’ Market.

This prompted one of the resellers to make “verbal threats to bash [Waege’s] head in while swinging a cane in his direction.”

And you thought the Co-op caused a roar and dispute when we tried to sell our bread (which we actually make) at the Saturday Farmers’ Market at the Fairgrounds! Enjoy.
